Frustrated

Drivel. Driveldriveldrivel.

After two mornings of writing, I am now hating it.

Characters are making speeches again.

But I salvaged the first part, so maybe if I think about these speeches some more, I can turn them into real dialogue.

Mostly hating.

And it is so tempting just to ignore work and keep working on it. Which I absolutely cannot and will not do. But am now feeling very irritable about the whole thing.

And there is going to be birthday cake today. Why is it that people in this office insist on wanting carrot cake for their birthdays? I want a good, sinful, rich chocolate cake. The last two carrot cakes came from Costco. Costco makes the BEST chocolate birthday cake.

There will be wine at the party too. I'd drink three sips of that and get tipsy, but it's bad for the baby.

*glowers*

Drivel. Driveldriveldrivel.

On top of that, have recently been unfriended by several [livejournal.com profile] rugbytacklers. Which is totally cool. And totally crushing. At the same time. :(

What kind of social misfit wants CARROT cake for their birthday? I mean, I like carrot cake, but that's just WRONG. Carrot cake is for brunches and picnics and shit like that. Even your basic yellow, or hell even a properly iced lemon cake, is more birthday than that.

And I assume you're speaking of the $14 Chocolate Cake of DOOM with the chocolate shavings on the side and the icing that tastes like it could have been iced with brownie batter. God now I want one.

Thank you!!!!

Yes! That one! Or possibly the one with the strawberry filling. So hard to decide. :D

Dude, carrot cake? Ugh. Even my Da, the carrot cake king, knows the value of a good chocolate cake. You have my sympathies.

The cake has arrived. I am sad. :'(

I don't do cake, but on your behalf, just to make you feel better, I'll have a glass of wine, or two. I'll be sure to think about you while I enjoy them :)

Red goes best with chocolate cake, a merlot would be good I'm not sure about carrot cake. I'm not really fond of white wines. Maybe something else light? Champagne? I don't have any! Aargh!

See? Now you've shared your frustration and you feel better, right? A trouble shared is half a trouble and all that.

I'll wait until later for the merlot. I don't think it'll go well with breakfast. *g*

Mmmm. Merlot. I would have a nice Reisling with the carrot cake. A Kabinet, probably. I cannot stand chardonnay, and white zinfandel tastes like cough syrup. I'm not a huge fan of spakling whites, but then, I have only had the cheap varieties, so maybe if we bought a $50 bottle? And that's the extent of my knowledge of white wines.

Concannon Petit Sirah is very nice for a heavy red, btw.

White's just too sweet for me, I ignore them and know nothin'. Except champage. The pricier bubbles are the way to go, definitely a 'you get what you pay for' item. Pretty much a holiday/special occasion indulgence.

I'm new to the syrah/sirah wines. Started with cabs and found I prefer merlot. Recently discovered meritage. I like finding the smaller wineries, and stick to California wines. I'll keep Concannon in mind, never tried it, that I recall. So many wines, so little time. (And actually prefer spirits above all)

I recently had to update my LJ for reasons of icon lust/envy. ;-D

We had carrot cake and chocolate cupcakes for someone's birthday yesterday--guess which disappeared first? *grin* But here, virtual chocolate cupcakes with ganache frosting, and some good virtual red wine (which you can have without worry!).

Sorry about the drivel and the unfriending! I'm still here, though! *hugs you* And I know what you mean about the drivel. I just looked over something I thought was brilliant three days ago, and while I'm not quite to the "ack! Delete!" stage, I'm getting there. *sigh*

Ah. The life of the writer. A constant state of doubt and self-criticism. :/

Only two more months 'til your birthday, and they will damn well eat chocolate then! *shakes fist*

Writing frustration is frustration indeed. *sympathizes*

Wah for unfriendings. They should have converted to the Stargate Love!!! But you know if you do write any more Lotrips you will crosspost in comms, and they will see it.

Yes. Which is why it's totally cool. I'm not insulted or upset or anything. Except that it makes me all sad. Partially because it's a reminder of the fandom I seem to have completely deserted now. I feel so irrationally guilty. :(

As far as writing frustration goes, I figure I've got quite a bit that's postable. It's the ending that's killing me right now, and it'll come. I just have to write *every* morning. No reading til I get it done.

I am reading very little in Lotrips -- just a few writers. It's a little sad, but then the Stargate is so GOOD, and yum. I'm easily distracted by the shiny. :-P

Now that I finished ficathon, am I working on other WIPs? No. Am reading like crazy. Argh. Perhaps I'll write when in CA at sister's. Or not...
