I read this and it's stuck with me.
ThawingI really liked it. One of my big complaints about the Stargate fandom is that practically everything is *epically* long. This is short, sweet, maybe leaves you wishing for a little more, but a good piece of storytelling, nonetheless.

Date: 2005-11-03 08:26 pm (UTC)I think it's snow stories for me, acutally. Remember But the Night Must Fall, the SB/VM Viking thing? Man, that sets a mood for me that will last a week every time I read it. I had kind of the same reaction to this one.
There's something I really like about well-written Sam/Jack/Daniel. I'm not as adverse to Sam/Jack as you are, though they hit my reality squick *even harder* than Jack/Daniel. Weirdly, Sam/Daniel does *nothing* for me. But together. *shrugs* There's a certain chemistry there for me. *is confused by het content* :)
And again I note my lack of a Sam icon. I was looking for one the other evening, then got distracted...
Re: Snow stories
Date: 2005-11-04 03:47 am (UTC)(I don't mind snow stories as long as they don't go on and on about how damn freezing they are, or how trapped. *shudder* No, I didn't like that "Sam and Jack are trapped in Antarctica" ep, only because of the ice and cold.)
Jack and Daniel have such an intense relationship, that to me reality is that OTP. ;-) And, yeah, they never made S/J believable on the show, so fuggedaboudit. D/S? Meh -- kinda incestuous, really. I find it funny that fic likes to pair Daniel and Paul Davis, often in opposition to J/D, whereas I think the show demonstrates an excellent relationship between Jack and Paul and not much between Paul and Daniel. Het content I don't mind in fic -- I was always all about Mulder and Scully, and damn I wanna see more nekkid Miranda Otto in Lotrips! *drool* -- just not in the Stargate fandom. Sam/Janet... I like that. ("Cassie has two mommies" -- aaawww. ;-)
