Double Drabble: Ozone

Grrrrrrrr.
You held him once.
Lifetimes away from home where you and he were exactly one half of the population of an entire planet.
A storm of impossible violence crashed down on you. You found a safe nook so small you had to cling together in order to share it. You were smashed against the stone wall, your pack gouging you, crushing him against your chest.
You couldn't hear anything but the continuous and deafening hisspopcrack of thunder. The smell of ozone and falling rain was familiar and strangely comforting.
He was trembling against you – whether from fear of the lightening or the chill of drenched clothes or something else you couldn't ask.
It seemed strange to you that his body shielded you from the storm. His breathing was warm and rapid against your ear.
In that long suspended moment, you kissed him. Tilted your head and caught his lips and even as his body tensed in your arms, he kissed you back, as if this were all he had been waiting for all this time, his tongue and lips and breath as much a force of nature as the wind and rain.
This just goes to show what a first-born I really am.
