So. I saw the thing about doing some random act of kindness for someone on January 15, in hopes of an exponential spreading of joy and happiness.

I don't have a lot of time and I'm at work, but I had some thoughts to share.

I include links for those not familiar with the poses who might need an assist to the imagination. Don't forget that all yoga is practiced in bare feet and comfortable, clingy clothes. :D

Daniel Jackson: Virabhadrasana II. The power, strength and intensity...

Jack O'Neill: Sun Salutation, Surya A. Something about the idea of Jack in a beautiful, graceful flow...

Teal'c: Natarajasana (aka Lord of the Dance). Becuase you totally know he could do it, and such a beautiful posture.

Sam Carter: Cobra. Solid foundation with flexibility and grace.

And why not throw in:

Viggo Mortensen: Handstand. Because if there was ever a free spirit.

and

Sean Bean: Halasana (Plow). Mostly in honor of my own porn.

Though Viggo and Sean really belong in the double poses: Double Tree, Two Camels, Elbow Lock, Double Back Rest

And there's your happy thoughts for the day.

Also, you rock.

Also, Sam is totally cobra, and I think I ran my google search for Sun Salutation wrong because I got some weird pictures...

Haha Sun Salutation!

If you've done any yoga, I'm sure you've done the basic Sun Salutations without knowing it.

Stand up straight, with feet together (Mountain Pose). Swan dive, keeping your back straight, hinging at the hips, to place your hands flat on the floor (Standing Forward Bend). Jump back to pushup position (Plank). Sink into Chaturanga - you know, the pushup position that's really low to the floor. Push forward and up (Upward Dog). Press back to Downward Dog. Hold for 5 breaths. Jump forward to Standing Forward Bend. Hinge back up, hands touching over your head to Standing Back Bend. Return to Mountain Pose, hands in Namaste. Begin again. I bet it's on YouTube.

Ooh... *stretches*

I need to do more yoga. (of course, that's right up there with those violin lessons, ballet classes, those ceramics classes, my sculpture classes... hm...)

How, in the name of all that's (un)holy, did I miss that series the first time??

That was incredible. Some of the hottest stuff I've ever, EVER read.

I'm so glad you liked it! Ah. The days where I was wallowing in the VigBean goodness and basking in the glow of being new to yoga. *sighs nostalgically*

Very, very happy thoughts ....

(I'm having lunch tomorrow with two pretty boys who do yoga. I should go with them sometime, shouldn't I? ;-)

My thoughts are now officially very, very happy. In fact, I almost don't have any other thoughts left right now, but for the ones you gave me. :)

Will I ever look at the the yoga poses on my Wii Fit the same? Think not.

But it's been done!!!! There's a story where they've been exposed to some sort of virus or something and have to be in isolation FOREVER, eating really bland food and for reasons related to the story there's a lot of porn on their TV (being watched by other people in quarantine) and to release some of the sexual tension and stress Daniel does yoga and Jack kind of goes along with it. Dang. Now I need to track it down.

But I suppose that story is not really yoga-centric...

:D

While I'd love to see that story, I'd say that theme was not yet fully, ehrm....delved. :)
