You may want to visit the queen of recs, green_grrl, particularly her Recs for the Newbie. She also has fantastic recs in lots of categories. Hit her tag for fic_recs and go back about 3 pages for the SG-1 posts. Her Atlantis page is a great place to get a foothold into the SGA fandom, too.
