Well. The vampire challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] mckay_sheppard got me thinking. And now I have a happy, fanged little blood sucker hopping around my brain.

I was getting all worked up, trying to figure out how the heck I would get it done and posted by Halloween. It's going to be longish - I predict 10,000 words or so. Please remember that I believe I draft unedited text at approximately 1000 words per hour. Then I have to edit it. Post the test post. Read the test post. Edit that. So another 4 hours to get it posted = a minimum of 14 hours to write and post the thing.

That is JUST NOT POSSIBLE. So I was feeling all spazzy.

Then I thought - nothing says Decmeber 25 like a great, pr0nie vampire story. Or if I get a writing break, maybe something to go with the turkey and green bean casserole and jello salad late in November.

*nods*

Yes. Vampires and stuffing and reindeer. That's the ticket.

Oh. Not McShep, though. No brain activity in Atlantis whatsoever. This would be your standard J/D. Unless it morphed into more of a J/D, J/S, J/T type scenario. You never can tell with these critters.

Vampires for Christmas! *is amused*

I rarely write specific fic for holidays, except for Danse Macabre's inception over Hallowe'en last year. That being said, the muse got Christmas-y last year, so I did a Christmas fic of sorts (Christmas dinner with an emphasis on the mistletoe :D). Who knows what the mistress will demand this year?

Halloween really appeals to my brain the most. I've never really had any Christmas inspiration, aside from that thing with Jack in the dress... :D

You were the first person to comment on that one! (http://brainofck.livejournal.com/179534.html)

You said we were both going to Hell! :D

Heh, goes to show that I'm awake.

All of my classes decided to line up to kill me this week, to the point that I'm killing off an imaginary relative to get out of writing a paper. The brain has gone to lunch, be back sometime next week.

I always wanted a vampire J/D for Christmas ...

Okay, so I lie. But I wouldn't turn it down! ;-)

Would you care to weigh in on the bloodplay question? *points down*

three words that do not usually belong in the same sentence: suck(er), happy and fanged

that being said, I think you can push them into the same metaphorical bed and make pr0n. isn't Jack getting a little long in the tooth, anyway?

So, what do you think? Does one have to warn for bloodplay when one is writing a vampire story and identifies it as such in the header with an NC-17 rating? :D

I believe that it is going to be titled Bright, Rich, Sweet.

Though I was also considering "Vampire Cannot Live By (Chicken) Blood Alone." *snickers*

I think bloodplay is kind of the point of vampire porn!

you know, I would think not. But you have a nice way with snarky warnings...

Bright, Rich, Sweet...all kinds of weird is playing across the screen of my brain right now!

Then I thought - nothing says December 25 like a great, pr0nie vampire story.

Only in fandom would that be a perfectly normal statement until I did a double take. And even then, it's still a perfectly normal statement. No snacking on the reindeer now, ya hear?

(Gives blood pudding a whole new context.)
