My brain's ego.

All of it's important contents in one place.

About My Brain

This journal contains slash fiction, rated from G through NC-17. Mostly LOTR RPS, but also some LOTR and crossover FPS. UPDATE: Also, now includes Stargate. Dammit. UPDATE: At which point I feel the need to remind myself that AT LEAST there is not yet any FOOTIE!slash (a la [livejournal.com profile] footballslash. Look. I am holding at least one line...) UPDATE: Dammitdammitdammit. I review my description of my journal and find that I am clearly a Stargate writer now, not LOTR RPS. This makes me sad and somewhat resentful, but that's the truth. And Jack and Daniel are SO pretty together. *sigh*

Please do not hesitate to friend this journal! :) I'll friend you back as soon as I check in, which I do every couple of days. And feedback is very welcome.

Content Warnings and Age Restrictions
Regarding the explicit sexual content of many of these stories, personally, I don't believe in censoring the written word. If you can read and understand and be interested, then I don't mind if you read here.

However, I am also a parent. I know how parents are. If you think your parents would tell you not to read this material, please respect your parents' rules and wishes. There's nothing in this journal good enough to make your parents mad about. Hopefully it'll all still be here when you turn eighteen when your parents stop paying your bills. :p

What People are Saying about [livejournal.com profile] brainofck

"I don't like Spagheti-O's, yet you've made them sexy. Amazing, totally amazing." - [livejournal.com profile] amise

"I was like, out loud, mind you, "What are you DOING?" " - [livejournal.com profile] wyldestarr

"Dude, you posted a link that said Stargate Fic and I clicked, and I had never even seen the show! (And thank you, BTW, for that little OBSESSION! *grin* )" - [livejournal.com profile] green_grrl.

"You read this stuff? And write it?! I can't believe people like this! It's so crude!" - [Name Withheld] - flamer, to remain unidentified

Story Index:
Lord of the Rings Real Person Slash - G to NC-17. Primarily SB/VM, but other pairings.

The Sharpe/Aragorn Project - PG-13 to NC-17. My absolutely favorite crossover ever, ever, ever. (Though Viggo/Trevalyan or however you spell it is really hot, too.) There are interesting pieces of this. Not sure where it's going exactly. And those of you reading Arena will see distinct parallels. There's a lovely honey and yogurt thing that's not finished. Definitely hope to turn this into something more readable some day. Just not this day.

Stargate - Yes. There is Stargate slash. I am more than a little irritated about this. Like I need more perversion in my life. I fully intend to blame [livejournal.com profile] uisgich til my dying day. Though it must be said, I watched about four seasons in one week on DVD. In the end, I couldn't resist DanielJackson.

If you are still looking for good stuff to read, I humbly suggest these stories and authors.

10 Signs You Are Reading A Story By CK

Huh. Don't know how good a job I did on this. But it amused me while I was packing.

1. Jack and Daniel have wanted each other forever, but they aren't quite meant to be.
2. Beanie's inexperienced, but game, and Viggo's a great teacher. (But that's a third of the stories at [livejournal.com profile] rugbytackle, so maybe not such a good indicator.)
3. Sam is cool, and she's 'shipping with you.
4. Orli is smart and you like him despite the fact that you are a die hard [livejournal.com profile] rugbytackler and he's messing with your OTP.
5. Total inability to stick to OTP. Everybody gets to play. OT3 and OT4? No problem.
6. There is non-con, and the characters' reactions are utterly inappropriate.
7. Aliens made them do it.
8. Everybody talks too much.
9. There's a happy ending. Usually NC-17. Or is that the definition of a happy ending?
10. It's WIP.

:)

Uhm, I know you'd rather receive feedback on stories but I got a real kick out of the way you set up this page, especially liking the "fan" quotes. Nice touch including a flamer.

The flamer though had me a little confused on what was being objected to since well any fic rated above G (or those erroneously rated G for that matter) have the potential for crudeness. It really isn't something exclusive to your genres. :-)

The flamer

Heh. The flamer was a person in RL. They happened by my computer and accidentally saw a snippet of what was on the screen. It happened to be my work (they did not know it was something I wrote) and it happend to be VERY crude. Jack's statement about target practice in <a href="http://brainofck.livejournal.com/74052.html>Sacrifices</a>. *eye roll* They immediately averted their eyes and made the statement above. :) And that is the story of the flamer. :) I'm glad you liked my page! I like it, too, and pet it often. *pets*

Geez....never thought I would get to use that phrase. ::g::

Because you might be wondering who this strange person is that just friended your writing LJ . . . . may I take this opportunity to say Greetings!

I've been reading and rec'ing your SG fic for a while now. I pop by from time-to-time to see what you've written and finally decided to come out of the weeds and friend your LJ. I was missing too many stories.

I don't expect you to friend me back as I don't contribute any creative offerings other than some music vids made in the yon distant past....before my muse decided to take an extended holiday with a return date yet to be determined. *patiently awaiting her return*
~*~

For all those times that I didn't take the time to comment...job well done!

And because this was the easiest place to comment to, you may (of course you can, it's your LJ!) delete my introduction to keep this area neat and tidy. : )
From: [identity profile] brainofck.livejournal.com
*snort*

Neat? Tidy?! Have you seen the way I keep house?

Well, no, I suppose not. :D

Meanwhile, I saw that you had friended me, and I was like, didn't she friend me ages ago? You comment all the time! (And thank you for rec'ing me! *scuffs shoe*) So, so pleased to have lured you in at last! :D

I'm about to friend you because there are a tiny, tiny group of things, probably of no interest to you, as they are LOTR_RPS, that you must be a friend of the journal to read. I think there are two.

While we're doing the LJ courtesy thing, please don't worry about ever de-friending me. I never take offense at that kind of thing.

Happy, happy to have you here!

Nice clutter.....

*is feeling the love*

Yes, I tend to comment a bit on your fic even if it is just a drive-by so I can understand that you think I had friended you earlier. I just never wanted to clutter up your flist until I realized I was missing so much. But I guess friends (in whatever form) are never clutter right? : )

I do occasionally do take a peek into your personal LJ and love reading about your little Rice Barbarian and The Boy. Which makes me wonder....what kind of rice does she like? Has she gotten discriminating yet? Jasmine? Basmati? Uncle Ben's Parboiled? Minute Rice? lol

When I was little, my mom used to cook rice for breakfast - served with milk, sugar, a little dab of butter, and served hot. (Alternated with chicken pot pies and baked sugar pies -- I know...weird kid.)

Nice memory. *sigh*

Hoot! :: grin :: Here I am, years late but—as always—appreciative of the finer things in LJ life:
- fine web/entry design (the pull-quotes are inspired!)
- the exceedingly fine Daniel says, 'Use your spellchecker' icon used with your reply, "The flamer"
- your exceedingly hot ficlet* which you kindly referenced (ibid)
- your other, no-doubt-tasty fics & recs, which I will scurry off now to devour

If you're curious, serendipity directed me here via your link at the end of Circadian Rhythms which is recommended in the notes to Subjectivity by [livejournal.com profile] dragonladyk which was recently requested at [livejournal.com profile] sgastoryfinders. I've only been reading fanfic online for about a year—a friend finally sucked me into SGA slash—but I'm an equal-opportunity SF/F/TV perv so I love new authors & recs. Happy to make your acquaintance! :: waves ::

*BTW, did you mean to title the ficlet Sacrificies or was it a typo? I LOLed ;-)

Hello! Lovely to have you here! Possibly not years late, if I can ever get through my RL issues and back to writing again, which hopefully will happen around New Year's!

Is there a typo in Sacrifices?! *scrolls up* I see I managed to screw the code in that comment response! *hurries off to check index page* Cause if there's a typo in Sacrificies, then that sucker's been sitting around for YEARS!!! Assuming I made no typo, what's the LOL? Unless it's really obvious and then of course it was intentional! *has Rodney-esque hand-flailing moment*

Anyway, pervs very welcome here. Hope you have fun wandering around. When you've tapped everything out, I think there are about 3 or four fics since August that might not be indexed or tagged. You can just flip back a page or two through the recent entries to hit them. :)

Aw phooey, I was just getting here to reply! I sorta liked the sound-associations of Sacrificies tho'.... ;-)

(I used to be a proofreader & copy-editor. I really wish I could turn it off but I seem to be stuck, dammit. Makes a lot of fanfic excruciating--not yours, I hasten to emphasize!)

My favorite word mixup in fanfic - shuttered. Heh. :D I, personally, make random typos. Avoide, for instance. And apparently, odd plural endings...
