I'm definitely coming down with something.

Too washed out tonight to write. I've got so much left to do on Skeletal Remains, it's not even funny. I'm hoping I can have it done to post a week from Monday. *pouts* I want cookies not, dammit. It's going to be freakishly long. It's 10,000 already, and I still have a major character to kill off, and a bunch of mission-fic left to write, plus a couple of sex scenes. 15,000? You people might get this thing in pieces.

Anyway, I wasn't ready to go straight to bed, so I have updated The Matrix, which is between one-quarter and one-third done. I don't know why I bother with the matrix anymore. I am not inspired by it. I try to stick the things I write into it's categories. I would love to try to let it inspire me, but I really don't have the time. Not to mention that I have seen better, more interesting matricies. *sigh* But anyway. It's a way for people to explore, if they are so inspired.

Also, I updated my Stargate Homepage. And in the process of going back over the past couple of months, I noticed that waaaaaaaay back when, I started a Sharpe thing. I have been absolutely *guilt-ridden* because I volunteered to write a pick-me-up comment fic for [livejournal.com profile] dork_elf, but when she asked for Sharpe, my brain went "Wha?" So after Skeletal Remains, Mr. Sharpe is on deck.

UPDATE: 44 stories, if you count the little crack!fic's, but also counting Adjustments and Possession as one each. Cool. Plus 3 major pieces largely written.

Jeez. Think how much time wasted that represents. *is pleased*

UPDATE: I was just reviewing my list of unfinished items. There's some good stuff there. Why are there not more hours in the day? *grumbles.

*poke* I'll be posting about this in a bit, but could I do your "Slavery on a Civilized Planet" for the 2007 DVD Commentary Challenge (http://seperis.livejournal.com/489190.html)?

On second thought....

Thank you! Such a kind friend, to interrupt her session with a leather clad Jean Luc to give me solace in my state of creeping crud. :D

Eh. It's been a busy year. You'll write them when you write them. xoxo

(And yay for organizing!)

I decided last night to go for a little instant gratification. Gonna prod one of the old yummy ones that I think was quite far along. :D

My advice is not to sweat the matrix if it's not honestly inspiring you anymore. I remember when those things first popped up and started spreading, at least in LOTRiPS, and even back then when it was all new and shiny, far too many of the prompt-table fics I read were mediocre at best, and coming from writers whom I knew for a fact could do a lot better. "Look, I filled in a box!" isn't really a great reason for writing or posting a fic, but it seemed like the primary motivation in far too many cases, rather than any true inspiration or enthusiasm for a story in and of itself. I eventually gave up on reading prompt-table fics, except for a few writers.

So my vote, for whatever it's worth, is ignore it unless something actually goes ping. If you've gotten all the real inspiration out of it that's there for you to get, then it's served its purpose, right?

Very sensible. I may shuffle along as I am. If one fits, I'll shove it in. But not gonna get worked up about it.
