Twelve
The speaker droned on.
Not fair. The presentation was interesting and important.
Usually Daniel would be all over it. But he was distracted.
Under the table, naked toes were gripping his knee, and easing their way along his inner thigh.
Definitely not a boot.
Jack was slumped in his chair, eyes fixed on the slideshow, the picture of bored concentration.
Obviously it ended while Daniel was trying to figure out how to get rid of those bare toes without anyone else noticing.
He bolted the room in an unseemly, unprofessional manner, making no excuse, not even looking at Jack.
Bastard.
Thirteen
He pulled the long plastic curtain closed behind him . Good enough for don't ask, don't tell. Jack was just done rinsing the soap out of his eyes. Daniel was heavier and stronger than Jack these days. He could curl, press and squat more than Jack probably ever had. Of course, as he went down to his knees in the draining water, that wouldn't matter one bit if Jack kneed him in the face. When Daniel got to his feet, licking saltbitter from his lips, Jack looked shattered. Devastated. Daniel left, nodding to the camera in passing. No more kisses.
