The term we didn't know
May. 3rd, 2009 08:53 amZats, the term was "rope ascender." :D
And.
Watching Myth Busters, I'm pretty sure they showed that getting shot by a rifle or handgun doesn't knock you backwards. The bullet exerts about as much impact on the person who gets shot as the recoil of the gun exerts on the person who fired the shot. So, you know, the bullet is all mean and bad and all, but it doesn't knock you feet through the air.
I was just writing a delightful gunbattle and now I realize a couple of really nice visuals I wrote do not work at all with reality as proven by Myth Busters.
So. Conundrum. Does reality squick take over?
*sighs*
Yes, sadly, I think it does.
