I don't know whether to be more shocked that he left the laptop unattended
Well, unlike most fan fiction writers, I assume that no classified material would be let out of "the box" at the mountain. I mean, I'm sure they all have *something.* But I'm pretty sure taking an SGC laptop home would get your security clearance revoked.
So I'm assuming this is just his own laptop and it's one of those little coffee shops where you can leave your stuff and go to the restroom or get another pastry or talk to the people across the room and not have to worry that anyone (except possibly Jack) will mess with your stuff.
