What I am thinking about right now

I got on quite a good roll with the genderbender smut this morning. I think we may have the next chapter by Monday. Sooner depending on everybody's sleeping schedules this weekend. Then I'm TOTALLY writing mutant!Daniel. Dammit.



Jack caught the rucked-up hem of his shirt and pushed it all the way up, revealing the entire expanse of Daniel's belly and breasts. Daniel struggled to control his breathing, but was nearly panting with a strange mixture of surprise and excitement and a fear that was verging on panic. He was comfortable with this body now, but he certainly wasn't used to other people looking at him. Jack was taking him in with a lustful appreciation that was making Daniel's mouth water and his pussy throb. When Jack raised concerned eyes to his face, Daniel would have blushed, except his face was already so warm he didn't think it was possible to flush any deeper.

"You're really sure?" Jack murmured. Daniel nodded his head frantically.

"'Cause, you know, you hear about heaving bosoms, but I think that's supposed to be an indication of passion, not an impending panic attack." Jack's voice was a silken growl. A full-body shiver raced through him, and Jack smiled a little.

Eheheh. I think uisgich is right. I AM trying to covert all the slash readers back to het by pretending het is slash. My evil plan moves forward. :)

My roommate and I discussed this and I'm of the opinion that if participants either have the same sex OR the same gender, it's still slash.

(We call this a gender-bender fic, but for the most part since Daniel still identifies as a male, it's only his sex that has changed. Yes, I went to a very Liberal Women's College. I have been indoctrinated in this XD)

Plus, just to be pedantic, I think genderbender actually fits. Because if something like this could really happen to someone, it would be a head trip. Daniel's struggling with it. Is he a man? Is he a woman? Is he both? Is he neither? His intellectual identification is male. His physical identification is female. His psychological status seems to be straddling some middle ground. He's "joining the tribe" in an concious, outward, overt attempt to act more feminine, but the place where he is with Jack emotionally seems to be the real thing - a straight woman attracted to a man. I think his gender is bent, no matter which way you look at it.

Though I do agree with you and your roomie. If we're defining slash as sex between two guys, then I'm not ditching slash in this.

*guhI'm not a slash/not-het reader so much as I call the sparkage where I see it, gender and apparent sexual orientation be damned. With Jack and Daniel, the sparkage would still be there if they were both turned into flying lemurser, I'm sorry... howler monkeys. Londo and G'kar already did the flying lemur slash...

No, that's a reasonable point.

And I enjoy genderbender fics also because sometimes it leads to fun arguments, such as one I saw where someone was complaining because they saw genderbending as furthering aspects of biological determination, where since the male is now female s/he is suddenly attracted to other males. The argument on the other side was that if anything it argued more the fluidity of sexual identity because suddenly a male mindset is exposed to sexual options they hadn't before considered in any real sense.

God I miss college.
