What do birds think?
I am interested in the Wingspan universe, and am about to spend a lot of quality time thinking about it. It's been years since I did that. Once I started to become more confident about my writing, I would take an idea and run with it immediately. I don't think that anything I've written has had as much depth as Arena, which I literally thought about for years before I tried to write any of it.
I've been having trouble balancing everything in life, and I'm about to go into a non-internet mode, trying to focus on RL and step back from writing. I think I'm going to try to use that time to just think about Wingspan, a lot the way that I thought about Arena.
All that said, if you liked Wingspan, do you have ideas about what would interest you about that universe? What would you like to see? Missions? Scenarios? Images with no context? Give me some additional inspiration.

*swoons*
I asked her to do this because of a theme list (as you know), but really, I was so, hmm ... impressed, or stirred maybe, by Wingspan, I wanted this to represent the transformation theme. I preferred the icon to show some of the solemnity of the fic, as opposed to having "fly me" written on his shirt. *g*
Although I like the fantasy aspect of transformation fic, as I did in "A Certain Troublemaker's Fault," I would enjoy finding out about what might happen -- realistically. With Jack being a pilot, he's got to have a whole lot of conflicting feelings and problems with being able to *fucking fly, man!* and the practical realities of putting on a shirt, making a living, and hopefully, being with Daniel.

Yeah... and does he even really still want to? Are his lovely wings the only physical change, I mean, are there feathers anywhere else? Is he in danger of growing a tail to act as a rudder? And if he's a bird of prey, um, does he hunt/eat alone, or does he provide for his mate? Will he need a beak or claws to do it, or does special ops training pretty much cover that? I hope he keeps his hands - it's so hard to fire a P-90 without fingers.
How, exactly, do they fly together? Daniel will learn to understand Bird!Jack-speak, of course; after all, it can't be any more difficult than Unas. I imagine if Daniel ever goes missing on a mission, Jack's new alien senses will make the SAR easier; angry Bird!Jack is probably a real force of nature. Is there social grooming? Please tell me there is.
I really wanna know why he changed/is changing. Do you think it's contagious? Did Janet call in an avian vet on consult? If this happened following a mission, are there other Bird!Men/women back on that planet? If they send a team to study them, is it part of their species' natural evolution? Can it be stopped? Does Jack *want* it to stop?
I know nothing about avian physiology. *cough* Do they still need lube?
Oh - and just to let you know, I hate you. *g*

That's a lot of good thinking material. *thinks*
