I feel a little guilty about it...

...but, you know, I don't really like dark!fic. I mean, the really pitch black stuff. A little gritty, maybe. Heading for dusk. But the truly bad stuff. Not for me. I'm here for escapism, not a broken heart. :(

Meanwhile, figured out a quick way to put a telepathy plot bunny out of its misery! You know how? We don't care how the telepathy came about! It did! That is completely irrelevant! Yay!

Dear Lord, thank You for Stargate! Amen.

don't feel guilty. i don't really like it either. i'm here for the comfort and the porn and the romance.

writing dark fic is really hard for me and i don't think i'll write much of it, but i'm glad i'm writing the one i committed to.

yes, thank you, lord, for stargate!!!!

The funny part is that some of the best *writing* out there, and some of the most creative plots, are in the dark end of the spectrum. I just don't want my heart ripped out, however artfully!

I will, however, be reading yours. Cause, you know. There are some writers, and you're with them, think or thin, dark or light...

*blushes*

Okay, what story prompted this entry? Did you read To Let His Kingdom Rise? And/or paian's just-posted epic?

(Fix-it fic for Bone/Kingdom to be done soon! Though Ivory tells me she's writing an even angstier sequel to Kingdom. Argh!)

Yay telepathy bunny! And yay for "who cares"! I think I'll be revisiting the unfinished cliche!fic soon and tossing out the need for most of the mission fic part, because: who cares?! (Still need a good handful of Greek/Mediterranean names from c. 200 A.D. though. Like I have a clue?)

All I've read thus far is Bone. And I read the other slashy one where Daniel and Sam go to the Headache Planet, and it brings up all their Missing Jack and Cam gets caught in the middle - [livejournal.com profile] _minxy_'s? Plus I read Five Ways SG-1 Broke Cameron Mitchell's Heart. It was a dark week for me.

Will prod Husband for Greek history book so I can generate you a list of names. Stay tuned.

Hmm. Stay away from Kingdom until I post fix-it, then. ;-)

And thank you! Setting is descendants from people from Library of Alexandria, so there can be 200 A.D Egyptian, Roman, Hebrew, etc., names as well. But mostly Greek influenced.

(I've even poked genderfuck story again, too. I will finish these suckers!)

Husband suggests that you get your hands on The Judgment of Caesar (http://www.amazon.com/Judgment-Caesar-Novel-Ancient-Rome/dp/0312932979/sr=8-6/qid=1168742960/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6/002-7974921-2040069?ie=UTF8&s=books), by Steven Saylor. It takes place at the Library of Alexandria about 250 years prior to the date you gave, but he thinks that should get you the kind of names you want. :D

Yeah. I won't be reading Kingdom anytime soon. Eventually, curiosity will get the better of me, but for the moment, I've had my fill of evil!Jack. :(

Awesome -- thank you! And Husband!!! Am ordering right now!

And it's only JD who's evil, you know... (OMG JD is not Jack! SO not Jack! That's how I get through Bone/Kingdom. ;-)
