Heh. You know, when I was younger I loved the sex scenes too, and couldn't understand the older women online who said that they skimmed past sex scenes in romance novels. I found that completely boggling. LOL! But now that I'm one of the older women and I've read thousands upon thousands of sex scenes, both in romance novels and in fanfiction, I often skim through sex scenes, too, muttering, "Sex... sex... sex..." out loud to myself as I skim until I get down to where the plot starts up again. Not always, of course, but I've read so much of it over the last thirty years (Mom started lending me her romances when I was twelve -- thanks Mom!) that it takes a really good writer to keep me reading through all the Tab-A-Into-Slot-B stuff. :P

And I ignore pwips as a matter of course, unless the writer is someone I know and worship. I like sex with my plot, but sex without a plot just bores me.

Which, of course, is why there are so many different kinds of stories -- so that both of us, and everyone else, can find something we'd like to read. :D
