Thanks! I kinda felt a little bit like I was cheating, by doing that at the end. I'm glad it worked for so many people. They could almost be one long arc, if you assume 1982 Daniel didn't didn't die and something pretty twisted happened between 1984 and 1986. But that certainly wouldn't fit in with the Jack and Daniel of canon. Hmmm. Or maybe it could explain Jack's weird mixture of hostility and protectiveness in the movie. Maybe it's not just his professional responsibility to look after the geek. Maybe he and the geek had a falling out back in their black ops days, but he knows how to take care of his geek when the time comes?
