The Sharpe/Aragorn Project Homepage

Sorry for people seeing this a second time. But I might be going somewhere with this soon, and I have reorganized and actually done a disclaimer.

[livejournal.com profile] uisgich and I started thinking about a Sharpe/Aragorn plot last year. She wrote a little. I wrote more. Because this is a crossover where our Mr. Sharpe travels to Middle Earth, Arena readers are going to see a lot of parallels here. Everything is in very rough form and carries a heavy bad!fic rough draft warning. It needs a big rethink so that it won't be Arena in Middle Earth, and I'm not announcing it anywhere any time soon, but I'll post the pieces open, unless I start coming up with anything that is creative and interesting enough that I feel like people would resent spoilers.

Title/Chapter:
Author: [livejournal.com profile] muck_a_luck, posting in [livejournal.com profile] brainofck
Pairing: Richard Sharpe/Elessar Telcontar
Rating: PG-13 to NC-17
Summary: Mr. Sharpe has a difficult morning in the fog and
Content/warnings: Crossover. Violence.
Spoilers: None.
Disclaimer: No infringement on anybody's copyrights intended. Fan fic worries some authors, because they find that they get a note from a fan or see something posted and it parallels something they were planning to write and their publishers flinch and they lose a whole storyline. Well, my sincere and abject apologies to Mr. Cornwell or any representative or asignee of the Tolkien estate who was considering a Sharpe/Middle Earth crossover novel. I swear by all that's holy that I will not claim any copyright in your publication. Dude.

Further Disclaimer: This is an unannounced WIP. Beware bad!fic and rough drafts
Special glaring to: [livejournal.com profile] uisgich, who started this with some bath!slut!porn one boring afternoon while I was working, pretended she wanted to write with me, then dropped it in my lap. *glares*

I found this by a chain of friendsfriends LOTR memories -- it's very interesting, and while I like the smut, I'm most interested in the cultural confusion (Sharpe is so a fish out of water) and the language difficulties which you are conveying nicely. I hope your still playing with it, because I'd love to see more.

Aragorn really doesn't seem the kind who'd know how to deal with Sharpe, who is much cannier and bad-tempered, and does *not* act as if he knows he's in an epic story. And Sharpe certainly would be bewildered by Middle-Earth and especially any kindness shown him -- he tends to be suspicious of such and bite first.

While this definitely remains my favorite cross-over pairing ever, I don't know what will ever happen with this project. My VigBean muse has gone who knows where. :(

Oh, too bad you've lost your inspiration. The skeleton you've got up has a fascinating shape to it.

I'm watching the Sharpe series again, and frankly, I find it amusing that you had Aragorn bring him to Minas Tirith -- Sharpe's tendency to get the girl, no matter if she was married, would have caused a lot of trouble, don't you think?

Ha! I hadn't thought of that! :)

Well, we'd all need to have faith in Arwen, I suppose.

Oh, I have faith in Arwen. I just think she'd take it stride and want to watch, that's all.

Faramir, on the other hand, will be suspicious for any number of reasons, and want Eowyn as far from Sharpe as possible.

Not only is Sharpe pretty similar to Rohirrim standards of a hero -- godawful bravery and stubborn honor -- but Eowyn is close to Sharpe's ideal woman, to wit, she can totally kick his ass.

Thank you for reading it, though! And I'm glad you liked it.
